Bandstand Operations Manager Job Description

JOB TITLE: Bandstand Operations Manager 

LOCATED: Bandstand-Holme Green, Regent’s Park & Broadwalk Bandstand across from Broadwalk Cafe 

BACKGROUND:

The programme for 2023 will begin on June 17th and end on September 17th, the dates over which coverage is required

There will be concerts on the Regent’s Park Bandstand every Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00 pm (in two sessions from 12:00 to 2:00 and 3:00 to 5:00) as well as the August bank holiday. There will also be concerts on Saturdays from 2:00 to 4:00 on the Broadwalk Bandstand across from the Broadwalk Cafe.

There is a requirement for a Bandstand Operations Manager on each concert day. The role will be based at Holme Green, the location of the Bandstand on Sundays/Bank Holiday Monday and on Saturdays at the Broadwalk Bandstand. A member of Royal Parks Staff will be available for advice on the day and would be able to attend site if required in an emergency. They will be contactable by mobile phone.

JOB PURPOSE:

• To support the activities of the Performers
• To manage the activities of the Bandstand Operation Managers Assistant(s)
• To help in case of emergencies
• To liaise with the Royal Parks Duty Manager and / or emergency services as necessary

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The individual would be responsible to instruct idverde personnel (park maintenance contractor) on site as to the equipment stored in the “Hut” required for each concert for delivery to the particular Bandstand being used. They will help packup and supervise idverde at the end of the concerts to take the equipment back to the Hut.

• Record a few 1 ½ minute video clips of the performers taking in the audience as well
• Setup & Take down PA Systems, one or two as required
• Install and Remove Banners around Bandstand
• Instruct Volunteer Bandstand Operation Manager Assistant(s) with their duties mainly handing out flyers to audience
• Setup & take down Donation Box
• Setup & take down lighting system in Broadwalk
• Plug in equipment to be recharged on Sunday night into timer
• Volunteer Bandstand Operation Manager Assistant(s)s will be at each concert to help with the above.
• It is important that the Bandstand Operations Manager has a mobile phone in case of emergencies, this will not be provided

Health and Safety

• To be familiar with the lost children procedure (contained within the site supervisors instructions)
• In case of health and safety concerns advice will be available on the day from the Royal Parks Duty Manager
